EIKEN (英検) IS A POPULAR ENGLISH TEST for Japan. Students can take different tests depending on their level. There are five levels or kyu (級), with Ikkyu being the most difficult.
Eiken (英検) is divided into two parts.
1KYU: Part of the Speaking Test involves a topic card with questions about controversial topics.
2YU: The test-taker reads a passage for 20 seconds. They are then asked four questions relating to this passage.
